Prompt 1: Red
Red is a strong color that is associated with a variety of things including: courage, power, glory, love, passion, inner strength, romance, sensuality, defiance, tenacity, violence, life, pleasure, fire, and revolution.

Life moves out of a red flare of dreams
Into a common light of common hours
Until old age brings the red flare again. —William Butler Yeats

For some, the color red can signify personal power and tenacity. When something flares red for you, what does that mean? When was the last time you felt the power of a red concept or emotion?

What I've created was a take the Cinderella tale, thought I very much doubt it's original. I mean... how can no one have thought of this before?

Also partly because... fire IS assosiciated with red but that rings false to me. Though, a friend of mine showed off her 'red' dress that looked very strongly orange to me.

Fire does not burn red, Cinderella thought.

The manor burned orange and yellow, sometimes blue. Sometimes green. But never red. Sometimes she saw it in the cinders, but though she stared at the fire until her eyes dried, never in the fire itself. The fire that clung to the house almost like it was an oiled rag, wrapped right around the walls. Normally there would be embers floating out, but none left its surface.

It had caught too quickly.

Still facing the inferno, she asked her fairy godmother: "Did you make this burn brighter?"

"No. This was all you. I only called out the animals, like you had asked."

Those animals danced around Cinderella's feet. The mice, the rats and the lizards. Danced around the one who had destroyed their home to in order to destroy those who had slowly rotted her and her life. Everyone was away. No one will see until the destruction is done.

The Fairy Godmother sighed. "I would have made those mice your servants. You would have had a dress so fine that no one would be able to resist staring at you."

Cinderella held onto her own clothes. The ones that she'd earned and made out of years of scraps. "What is the worth of one night of freedom if I return to... this?"

She got no answer in her Godmother's next words: "I may still be able to provide you a carriage. There is a place to the south where I think you will be welcome."
Cinderella did not turn away from the fire, but she reached up to give her Fairy Godmother a gentle scratch.

"Make this fire burn red."
